From Initial Idea to Final Polish
Everybody has a story to tell. Whether you have always wanted to write a book and need a little bit of help brainstorming or already have a fully drafted manuscript that needs some revising and polishing, I've got you covered!
Below you'll find a list of services that I offer, broken down into the various stages of editing that I find most helpful for developing a novel or memoir.
Editorial Services
Manuscript Evaluation
Fee: Project-based
starting at $1,500 for short manuscripts or highly-polished manuscripts.
Evaluating your manuscript involves reading through a first draft or partial draft and figuring out exactly what the manuscript needs to become successful. The process will evaluate issues of character development, plot and structure, point of view, tone, tense, narrative style, sensitivity issues, and other craft-related topics. After the process, you will have a document outlining the items that need addressing in the current draft.
Manuscript Development
Fee: Project-based
starting at $5,000 for short manuscripts, and depends on the needs of project.
During a the development process, you and I will work closely together to successfully finish your book or manuscript. The scope of work involved can vary from project to project, but may include detailed plotting and outlining, reading sections or drafts of the book multiple times and giving feedback until it is publication ready, or even establishing writing deadlines and schedules.
Copyediting
&
Proofreading
Fee: $65 per hour
An initial copyediting pass will include fact checking, correcting inconsistencies in the writing or style, and address issues of readability, clarity, tone, and point of view to ensure that what's written is exactly what you meant to say.
This is followed by a proofreading pass, which is a light final edit of a finished book or piece of writing. In a proofreading pass, I will correct grammar where needed (but not to the detriment of your personal writing style, voice, or artistic choices), edit punctuation for consistency and efficacy, and fix any typos or mistakes. Following a proofreading pass, your manuscript will be ready to send to agents and publishers.
Coaching and Teaching
Writing Coaching
Fee: $65 per hour
Coaching might be a great fit for you if:

Private Lessons
Fee: Topic-based
starting at $500 for 4-session, single topic lessons
I offer customized writing lessons and courses that are tailored to your interest and skill level. Courses can cover the full range of writing and craft topics, and can range from four to twelve lessons per course.
